Victory has begun weekly service from Boston to Miami to determine if it can build a better mouse trap on the last mile delivery in the freight industry. Last mile delivery has been a problem for the entire supply chain as last mile delivery includes delivery to the home or office uncrating, unwrapping, assembly of product and removal of debris. Victory Worldwide’s competitive advantage is that it has the skilled labor to drive, move, assemble, and deliver a white glove service in home or office which is the most costly and complicated part of the process. By adding the first mile which is basically loading and hauling at origin the goal is to create a seamless end to end quality experience increasing efficiencies by reducing trans-shipping to the last mile provider and reducing total cost by reducing transit time, claims and customer dissatisfaction. Victory will be utilizing a separate fleet of 53’ Great Dane trailers and short wheelbase tractors to navigate in residential neighborhoods working with only two customers during the one-year pilot.
